Speery Good Shoes – Sperry Rainboots

The weather at the moment is about as predictable as a Game of Thrones plot line, with equally as many twists and turns. It’s not uncommon for it to feel like all four seasons in one day so dressing accordingly can be a total pain in the Cumulonimbus particularly when it comes to footwear. Trainers can often not cut it in this weather and it’s far to early in the season to be putting out the winter boots. What does one do ???

Well Sperry’s Rainboots might just be the answers to you needs. Since 1935 Sperry but more specifically their founder Paul Speery has been producing high quality footwear. In fact Sperry is credited with inviting the trusty deck shoe, after he cut grooves into the soles of rubber-soled leisure shoes to make them slip resistant.

With the rain boots you can trapeze over any train in all weather comfort and style these waterproof boots are made to keep you steady warm and safe whatever the weather.

They are made from durable, high-quality materials, including non-marking rubber lugged outsoles with moulded wave-sipping technology for additional sure-footedness, come rain or shine.

A Heritage brand with real Heritage – Peregrine

The Manufacturing industry of the United Kingdom are rarely given the credit the so sorely deserve. Whether it’s in the proud historic factories of Manchester, the mills of the Scottish Highlands or the fabric manufacturers of Northern Ireland the Great British Clothing Industry may not be booming in the way they did post the Industrial Revolution but they are on the raise and in great demand both nationally and internationally.

One such brand that has been proudly made in England since 1796 is Peregrine. Peregrine Clothing was established as a brand in 1956 as a separate entity from the manufacturing company J.G.GLOVER & CO, which has been lovingly passed down through eight generations of the Glover family, meaning that for over 220 years they have been crafting the highest quality knitwear and coats, so you could say they know a thing or two.

Tom Glover, current managing director and designer of the brand, took over the company in 2003 looking to revitalize the brand during, what could be classed as very challenging times for British clothing manufacturers.

Every step from the very first design to the finishing stitch has been executed in the UK and of this the brand are extremely proud. Because of this, they can control everything about the garment production from start to finish and they maintain a close working relationship with the team at their Manchester based factory.

Every piece of Peregrine clothing always starts the same way with a few core themes in mind; Functionality, adaptability and a play on tradition. Something special they want their customers to be excited about, where their clothing comes from.

For the Glover family, its important that their clothes span seasons and that when you are investing in a wardrobe staple from Peregrine that you will love them and care for them for years to come. Their designs not only stand up to the elements but transition seamlessly to suit an urban environment making them adaptable for both city living and country breaks.

In this same way and bearing that ideal in mind the A / W 17 Collection has been inspired by the brands rich heritage & connection to both the city & the country. The clothes have been carefully designed with practicality in mind. working with the best quality fabrics & unique design details that give each garment a special character.

ASAP Rocky – The Best Dressed Man in the World ?

Words by Isaac Perry

Rakim Myers better known to millions around the world as A$AP Rocky was born and bred in Harlem, New York before being catapulted onto the scene in 2013 with his debut album Live, Love. A$AP which debuted at number one on the billboard top 100, following this up with his hit number one, yet again, with At. Long. Last. A$AP’s taking the rap world by storm, forming one member of the hip hop group known as the A$AP mob, where he adopted his music world moniker.

More recently he’s become common place on front rows of leading Fashion Houses around the world during Fashion Weeks. He been the face of Ad campaigns for some of the leading luxury fashion brands, with his looks communicating to the younger generations of today symbolising freedom and creativity in whatever he so wishes to wear. Through a combination of casual staples and high end fashion pieces, he’s become one of the most recognisable faces, splattered across both magazine covers and social media all over the globe for both his music achievements and fashion choices.

A$AP Rocky is becoming one of the most versatile gentleman within the industry showcasing a blend of styles from streetwear to designer wear and spreading his talents far and wide. However, is he just following the trends of the moment but wearing more expensive alternatives? A matter of opinion I would say, whatever it may be, we over at Clothes Make the Man are in oar of his current styling.

Recently announced is the partnership between himself and Under Armour, which has currently fallen short of many other sports brand and in a hope to rejuvenate the brands lifestyle clothing, they’ve turned to A$AP Rocky. Having previously collaborated with brands including Guess and Adidas, A$AP Rocky has created some wonderful pieces most notably the GUE$$ tee’s which can be found reselling for more than double the original retail value.

Mr Myers has previously said, “I used to put a lot of thought into what I was wearing and then when all my favourite brands were being brought and worn by the biggest posers and celebrities with horrible taste,” soon followed by “that’s why I’m wearing old Raf Simons jeans, beat up Alexander wang boots, and a distressed VLONE T-shirt. I’m just over it.”

So are some brands being ruined by the ‘posers’ in which he’s talking about?
