In a new series over here at Clothes Make The Man, we are documenting the top 5 new streetwear pieces of the month, from high end to mid end and the occasional bargain that pops up.
With the annual Supreme spring summer weekly drop schedule recently coming to an end, there’s no better time to show those select hypebeasts some alternatives for their wardrobe.
This month’s feature documents some staple names in the streetwear industry, as well as some upcoming brands who are continuing to make the right noise.
One of the most influential figures in streetwear, Nigo, previously the owner of A Bathing Ape, launched his new Fall/Winter 2019 collection with HUMAN MADE, his most recent brand, earlier this month.
The collection introduced an array of workwear-indebted items that personifies his own personal style.
The absolute grail piece to come from the collection was the Military Print Chino, in an off-white colourway, emblazoned with an array of HUMAN MADE motifs. The pant has a personal touch with the design being hand painted, and comes in a wide-leg fit, equipped with specific iPhone size tool pocket.
With signs of cooler weather appearing, a denim jacket provides that finishing touch to an outfit, making it go from a solid 6 to a 9.5. This silhouette comes from Parisian based label M+RC noir, a brand that has seen a rapid rise in the last couple of years. Big names such as American rapper Quavo and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams were spotted in the brands second release of their SS19 collection, creating huge hype before the drop 2 weeks ago.
The jacket consists of an all over laser printed logo detailing, 14oz denim fabric and a 100% cotton finish.
This item is definitely a stand out piece to accompany a host of fits.
The 3rd instalment comes from a homegrown brand that is making big noise in the streetwear and urban culture scene. Having accumulated a following of just under 30,000 followers in no time, Unknown London have made a quick and authentic impact on the scene.
On the back of 2 successful collection sell outs, the brand finally made a comeback with the first instalment of their SS19 collection 2 weeks ago.
Their Zip Up Hood comes in a hand bleached tie-dye, a flock logo print and an oversized fit, with a450 GSM, 100% heavyweight cotton finish.
Both Stussy and Carhartt have teamed up with Dover Street Market to provide bespoke capsules for the retailers London and LA locations, including both exclusive tees and layering pieces.
The piece we have chosen to highlight from the capsule is the all-black vest, sporting quilted lining and a zippered closure, with both Stussy, Carhartt and DSM branding located on the two chest pockets.
The garment comes in a 100% cotton composition, and is available to buy in-store and online now.
The final instalment of July’s edition comes from U.K based brand Represent’s Fall/Winter 19/20collection.
The item featured is their ‘Never Comin Down Hoodie ‘, coming in a black colourway and a slightly oversized fit in an extra heavyweight loopback cotton. The silhouette also comes softened, pre-shrunk and piece dyed for the ultimate jersey, accompanied by their Fall Winter 19/20 logo printed to the centre of the chest.
A stand out graphic without question, and one of my personal favourite designs out there in the streetwear scene at the minute.
