Only last week we were contemplating the merits of Menswear brands who are ultising the skills and qualities of British Manufacturing and if only to reiterate this point the latest in the growing number of stylish brand to recognise these expertees is a bastion of Great British Retailing, John Lewis, who this season launch their ‘Made in Manchester‘ range which is part of the menswear own brand offering, sitting under the John Lewis & Co. umbrella.
The Retailer have worked with Cooper and Stollbrand, a 100 year old factory nestled in the heart of one of the grestest cities in the Union, Manchester. The idea being to create a premium collection of 6 garments produced in an honest and traditional way; only using the finest British fabrics, trims and components, sourced locally where possible.
The ‘Made in Manchester’ AW17 collection is made up of 4 jackets and 2 shirts, where only 100 of each piece has be created. John Lewis have taken authentic pieces and adapted them, evolving their silhouettes and creating something fresh; designed with premium and innovative fabrics, such as parachute lining in the Camo Wax Coat.
The Primary purpose of the ‘Made in Manchester’ range is to highlight their committment to and continue to build on John Lewis & Co.’s ethos of luxury and longevity.
