Who ? shame on you, the legendary Pancho Gonzalez, was an American born tennis player of Mexican descent who started his amateur career in the late 1940’s, but shortly after making the leap to join the professional league. He was the World No. 1 professional tennis player for a total of eight years between the 1950s and early 1960s. He won 17 Major singles titles including 15 Pro Slams and 2 Grand Slams.
To pay homage to one of the world’s memorable tennis players, the Californian Sports and Heritage brand, K-Swiss, have used classic silhouette of their Adcourt’72 trainer to create an exclusive pack called the Adcourt’72 PG (Pancho Gonzalez). Special detailing has been added to the shoes design, such as gold eyelets and a forest green fabric patch, which shows an image of Pancho’s face. This lies on the tongue while the mixture of soft leather and suede is used for the upper, maintaining the shoes premium appearance. The finishing touch to this design is the hand written signature which adorns the side of the shoe.
